The Grays Harbor County District Court handles a diverse range of cases, including traffic infractions, civil disputes with limited monetary claims, anti-harassment and protection orders, and misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor criminal offenses. The Court’s mission is to “facilitate justice in our county with efficiency, understanding, and respect.”  In doing so, the Court strives to ensure that those that access the court receive a fair and impartial legal process.  Further, the Court aims to uphold the rule of law while taking into account the unique needs and challenges of the Grays Harbor community.

JUDGES
Judge Megan Valentine, Presiding Judge
Judge Valentine was appointed as a District Court Judge in 2021 and elected in 2022.  She previously managed her own private practice, worked as an associate attorney at Ingram, Zelasko & Goodwin, and served as a Grays Harbor Deputy Prosecutor.  Judge Valentine graduated from Montesano High School and the University of Washington, then received her law degree from Cornell in 2004 and subsequently acquired a Masters in Business from Eastern Washington University.  Judge Valentine has been involved in the community by serving as a member of the Friends of the Montesano Library, a troop leader for the Girl Scouts, as well as various programs to improve outcomes for foster youth.

Judge Andrea Vingo

Judge Vingo was elected as a District Court Judge in 2022.  She previously served on the Board of Tax Appeals, as an Assistant Attorney General, as a deputy prosecutor in Grays Harbor County, chief criminal deputy in Island County, and as the Hoquiam Municipal Court Judge.  Judge Vingo graduated from the University of California at Davis, then received her law degree from Seattle University in 1996.  Judge Vingo has been involved in the community by serving as a board member for Coastal Harvest, the Driftwood Theater, the Grays Harbor Domestic Violence Center, and the United Way.
