What About Organ, Eye and Tissue Donations:

Many residents of Washington State have already registered their intention to donate organs, eyes and tissue upon their death. There are 3 ways to become an organ, eye and tissue donor:

1. When you apply for your driver’s license, instruction permit or identification card, you can make the donation choice; or

2. Visit the Donate Life Today website; or

3. By standard mail, send a letter with your name and address and desire to be a donor to:

What If The Next of Kin Of A Deceased Person Are Approached About Organ, Eye, and or Tissue Donations:

The next of kin of the decedent may be contacted by an organ donation organization.

If the Coroner’s Office has assumed jurisdiction over the death, the Coroner or Deputy Coroner will need to approve any donation authorized by the family.
