The Grays Harbor County GIS Program provides geographic mapping support and services to the departments within the County, local government agencies, private companies, and the general public.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is an organized collection of computer hardware, software, geographic data, and personnel designed to efficiently capture, store, update, manipulate, analyze, and display all forms of geographically referenced information.

The Grays Harbor County GIS Program was started in 1988 under the Forestry Department. Once other departments learned the benefits of GIS, we started providing services outside the scope of forestry and in 1991 were merged with the Central Services Department.
