Civil and Legal Process
The Chief Civil Deputy oversees the Civil Division. The Civil Department is the civil and legal process service function of the Sheriff's Department and covers a wide variety of court papers from subpoenas to small claims to orders executing the removal of renters for non-payment of rent.
The Civil Department cannot give legal advice. If you want information regarding the process for eviction of a tenant, more information can be obtained by going to the website for the Attorney General for the State of Washington or by contacting an attorney.
The Civil Department is approximately six weeks out for service of civil papers that we are not mandated by law to serve (small claims, etc.). If you cannot wait that long for us to serve your papers, click the link below for a list of private process servers registered with Grays Harbor County.
